Matte color.

Tuesday, October 30, 2012

So, I am totally in love with matte finishes to photos.
I never knew how to do it and am not at all claiming I do.
But I did some hard digging around (without buying
an action pack from any site). And found Tonya Holsey Photography.
She made it pretty easy. While I still have a long ways to go I decided
to practice on one of my recent shoots and this is what I came up with.

The top one is the original straight out of the camera photo and the bottom one is the edited.
Look below for the full size edited one.

Any tips or easy ways you turn your photos matte or any
tips to bring the warm glow in there are welcomed!
Thanks!

I had a little more time to give it another try.
These are my boys.
There is so much going on in the photo so I decided
to crop some of it out.
Heres attempt #2 of "matte-ifying".

And the big picture.

Another one.

Practice makes perfect?

Black & White.

Sunday, October 28, 2012

Once again I was inspired by a i heart faces.
I was browsing their site and found a link to how to
create a black & white matte finish to photos.
It's so fun to change up the whole feeling of the photo
when transforming it to black & white.

Here is what I created.

Everything around her just intensifies & I love it.

I love the texture of the wood behind her.

Matt-ey.

The brick has so much detail and her eyes are so textured.

I love this tutorial and I just want to go through all my photos, to turn them
black & white and see what pops from the photo!

Until next time. . .

Ghost Inspired.

Saturday, October 27, 2012

I was recently inspired by i heart faces site with their ghostly portrait tutorial.
Therefore I borrowed my friend and photographer Daniela.
She's amazing. She agreed (last minute request I might add).
She also found this amazing spot a while ago and I thought it'd be perfect.
Therefore I've messed around with it a couple of times and some I didn't even "ghost-ify" the picture. She's just to pretty to become a ghost!
Ready.
Set.
BOO!

First I just jumped into and started off like this.

I asked people and hubby what they thought and they said creepy. So I was verry happy!

Then I had her pose in different places but the same "spot" to capture many ghost of Daniela.

Here is one with 4 and the next one is with 3. I can't decide if it is too crowded, therefore I did one with 4 and one with 3.

What do you think?  4 or 3?

Okay and now she is too gorgeous to be a ghost so here are just some pictures.

By far my favorite.

So. . . what do you think?

Oh and by the way. I love photoshop. Look at the before and after!

Until next time. . .

Dani. Part two...or three?

Sunday, October 21, 2012

Daniela is AWESOME!
She's an amazing photographer that also took my family pictures, a great friend, and looks like a model. She is just so photogenic and the camera loves her. Picture time.

^
I love love love this one!

Until next time. . .

Christina.

Christina is a local photographer and an amazing mother of twins! She was so much fun to work with and hilarious. I can't believe how much energy she had (she works, has her own photography business, and a busy mom of two). I can't wait to work with her again.

I'm so lucky to photograph and have gorgeous friends.

Until next time. . .

Taelynne.

Taelynne and I met through a local Photography group and although we met there little did I and maybe she knew, our husbands knew each other before we even met. They happen to work together. Funny how things happen in a small town. Anyways, she is gorgeous and fun to be around. Let's get to the photos!

Isn't she just too gorgeous!?

Until next time. . .

Girl's Night.

So, remember that night where I was attending a girls photo session to "be on the other side" of the camera. Well tonight, or I guess literally last night we did our "re-do" and while a one friend couldn't come, I still had a blast. Pictures to come in individual posts. But I want to thank these gals for letting me take their photos and also taking my photo.

Until next time. . .

I swear the sun can be amazing or your worst enemy. Plus, I'm not amazing at editing! Therefore, this post will be regarding the "girls shoot" that hardly happened. We were all primped up and then Mother nature and her creatures were out to get us! First of all, stormy weather was upon us with dreary cloudy no fun shooting weather, THEN. . . the mosquito's had a full on Thanksgiving buffet on us! I got at least 6 bites and I was mostly covered up (jeans, boots, 3/4 sleeve shirt [which they got into some damn how])! Anyways, so here I am trying to edit some (not many) photos I got and I feel like this edit is not even worthy of posting but maybe I could get feedback how to edit photos that are kidnapped by the harsh/cloudy sun.

This is what I've got.

 1st SOOC                                                       2nd Editied

I just feel like the editing is so harsh (while I like the background) How would I get the colors of Gorgeous Dani not so harsh-ish? Ugh I wish they had a certain type of editing class here (not the "old fashion" kind.)

I do sorta like how the B&W came out though.

Okay, but seriously how gorgeous is she!

I think I got some what of hang on it (I've been editing then writing this post after photos) and I think I did way better on this one then the first one.

Practice makes Perfect which I'm not close to but I like it for right now.
:)

Until next time. . .

watermarkED.

Thursday, October 11, 2012

I sometimes get bored easily and right now I am bored with my watermark so I decided to make something simple and easy.
I like it a lot.
Wanna see?

Simple.
&& I like it.

Until next time. . .

Excited much?

Isn't Daniela Curl Photography  just so darn amazing?
I put together a small showcase of what she has done! I put her name as a logo so no one steals her amazing work! I love how she captured our family! I also want to congratulate her for being an official business owner now!

Onto other news, a couple photographer girls and I are getting together this weekend and I can't wait because amazing Dani found this awesome site the shoot it basically Pinterest but for photographers! Now I have numerous ideas for the shoot! Also, this weekend I think my friend and I are going to a pumpkin patch to check it out with our kids and take some pictures and maybe even see Pitch Perfect this weekend!

That's all for now.

Until next time. . .

Amazing & Inspired.

Monday, October 8, 2012

Today my family and I had a little photo shoot with a friend and photographer. She did an amazing job so far with the sneak peeks she gave up and I am thrilled to see the rest. [To see the sneak peeks check out http://www.facebook.com/danielacurl.photography & her site is

Into the inspired part, I really want to photograph a maternity session and a couple one. My favorite spot, (which I've only shot once at) is in my own neighborhood! How awesome and convenient! I have some inspired poses I'd love to try and just venture out to something new. I guess I'll have to do some asking and research to find out who can make my dreams come true. :)

In other news some friends and I are taking shots of each other this weekend and I can't wait. Then we might go see Pitch Perfect on Sunday, which looks totally hilarious! Later in the month I am hosting a Fall appetizers and desserts potluck. I am so loving October!

That's it for now. Pictures to come!

Until next time. . .

Taelynne.

Saturday, October 6, 2012

Today I went out with two friends to drive around and find places to shoot at. One of the gals, Taelynne was gracious enough to model for some photos. I love getting to capture new people on camera, especially friends! Let's get to some photos!

Enjoy!

Weeds can be beautiful too.

Love this one!

I luck out with gorgeous friends, huh?!

Until next time. . .
